These highly lustrous and colorful carved blacklip Tahitian pearl shells measure approximately 4 1/2 by 5 inches in diameter. The front side is polished and has a beautiful, hand-carved Polynesian design of a manta ray, by an artisan on Tahiti. The backside is sanded, natural shell.
The colors range from shimmery graphite to cherry, golds, light green and white.
Each shell is unique with the design changing slightly depending on the artist's whim and shape of the shell. Every one is a piece of art in its own right.
They can be used for displaying jewelry and other small items or to serve sauces or caviar. There are so many possible uses.
