Put your pearls on last, after perfume and lotion, and wipe them with a soft cloth after wearing. Store them in their pouch, away from harder jewelry, and keep them out of pools and hot tubs.

A: Fewer than 10% surface imperfections; fine luster.
B: 10–30% surface imperfections; good luster.
C: 30–60% surface imperfections; moderate luster.
D: More than 60% surface imperfections; the most affordable grade.

Last on, first off. Put your pearl on after perfume, lotion and hairspray.
Wipe after wearing. A soft, slightly damp cloth keeps the luster bright.
Store it apart. Keep it in its pouch so harder stones can't scratch the nacre.
Skip the pool. Chlorine and hot tubs dull pearls over time.
